Washington Elopements
The best elopement locations in Washington State
Eloping is in!
Long are the days where an elopement meant a rushed ceremony in vegas or barefoot vows on a tropical beach. So many couples are trading in huge wedding productions with dozens to hundreds of guests for a private, intimate, and rugged adventure, and we’re here for it. As photographers, we couldn’t ask for a better situation to photograph. Beautiful location, check. Two souls on fire for each other, check. And a ceremony built for the sole purpose to make a promise to the one you love the most. amazing!
Washington State may have some of the most unique elopement locations in the country
Washington state is vast. the puget Sound clefts Washington from Sequim and Bellingham all the way south to Olympia. Washington boasts wild rainforets in the Olympic Peninsula. Glacier capped volcanos seated atop the Cascade mountains. Washington has your elopement needs covered. And we’re here to guide you through it all.
Coastal Elopement Locations in Washington
The Washington Coast is rugged and diverse and it gets our top vote for elopement locations.
01. Ruby Beach
Ruby Beach is one of the most visited areas of Olympic National Park, and for good reason. Ruby Beach is located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula. Here is a recent shoot we did at Ruby Beach.
02. Rialto Beach
Dark rock beaches, massive drift logs, relentless waves and views of offshore islands known as 'seastacks' are features that define Rialto Beach. And it is without a doubt one of our favorite places in the world. Here is a beautiful shoot we did at Rialto.
03. Cape disappointment
Cape Disappointment is a headland of the Pacific Northwest, located at the extreme southwestern corner of Washington, United States on the north side of the Columbia River bar. Here is a shoot we did out at Cape disappointment. Cape disappointment doesn’t disappoint.
04. Shi Shi Beach
It’s a little hard to describe this beach. We’ll say this. We took a trip to iceland recently and were completly underwhlmed becuase we’ve been to Shi Shi. Words won’t do it justice, so have a look at this session we shot there.
05. Lake Crescent
Nestled in the northern foothills of the Olympic Mountains, Lake Crescent lies about 18 miles west of Port Angeles (directions). The pristine waters of this deep, glacially carved lake make it an ideal destination for those in search of natural beauty.
Mountain and Forest Elopement Locations in Washington
The cascade and Olympic Mountains offer up something spectacular when it comes to an elopement location. These spots aren’t close to Seattle, but nothing worthwhile is easy.
01. North Cascades National Park
The Cascades are calling! Less than three hours from Seattle this alpine landscape can’t be beat. An elopement we shot at the North Cascades National Park
02. Mount Rainier National Park
Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier is a Washington Icon. Here is a wedding we shot out at MRNP. And a quick elopement shot on film.
03. Kachess Lake
The National Parks don’t have to have all the fun. Washington offers up Towering peaks, high-country lakes and old-growth forests at Kachess Lake.
04. Hoh rainforest
The Hoh Rain Forest is located in the stretch of the Pacific Northwest rainforest which once spanned the Pacific coast from southeastern Alaska to the central coast of California. The Hoh is one of the finest remaining examples of temperate rainforest in the United States and is one of Washington’s most popular destinations.
05. Hurricane Ridge
Hurricane Ridge is the most easily accessed mountain area within Olympic National Park. In clear weather, fantastic views can be enjoyed throughout the year. But it’s the heavy fog we love the most. Here is a shoot we did at Hurricane Ridge.
Elopement Details
We believe in elopements so much, we eloped for our own wedding and we’d be honored to document yours.
National Park elopements will require a permit. Washington has hundreds of options for elopement locations and it can get overwhelming, get in touch with any questions. Weather is the biggest thing to consider when planning an elopement. Generally, May through October is best, but really, plan for rain, this is the Pacific Northwest after all.
